Gone Fishing
20 poems about slimy creatures and those who chase them
By Lenny Everson
(With one poem by B. Alexander and one by Tina the cat. Cover picture by Susan E. Smith, world-famous photojournalist)
Just a little book of fishing poems for someone you know who needs a gift that looks a lot more expensive than it actually is. Generally funny, which is what fisherfolk are. It won't win a Nobel prize, but it's a good value for $5.

The
lawn needs cutting
The gardens lost in weeds
The wifes got a 3-page itemized
List of her needs
The roof leaks a bit
In a hard-driving rain
The dogs got loose
And is gone again
I ought to work
I sure ought to stay
But what can I do
Its a bass-fishing day
Let the lawn grow deep
Let the darn dog stray
I know where Ill be
On this bass-fishing day
So here I sit
Out in the bay
Deep in the middle
Of a perfect bass day
So whos complaining?
Im not so dumb
A man needs something
To get away from.
